6 firm apples that will hold their shape such as a Granny Smith or Golden Delicious
3 Tbsp butter
½ tsp cinnamon
3 Tbsp plain flour
½ cup raisins
? cup sugar
¼ cup walnuts, chopped
½ cup water and orange juice mixture

Preparation
Preheat oven to 175°C
Method
Wash the apples; core then peel one narrow strip from around top edge.
Place the apples in a deep baking dish.
Fill centres with raisins.
Combine the flour, sugar and cinnamon.
Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or fork.
Stir in the chopped walnuts.
Sprinkle the crumb mixture in the centre and over the apple.
Pour water and orange juice over apples.
Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour, basting occasionally.
Serve these baked apples with cream or ice cream.
